Blood Screening

Blood screening here in The Liver Foundation is done by the highly trained staff with professionalism and under hygienic environment. It involves testing a blood sample of patient to see whether it contains Hepatitis virus. Hepatitis blood tests look for antigens or antibodies specific to each type of hepatitis virus such as hepatitis A, B or C. The negative result of blood screening indicates that the patient is not diagnosed with hepatitis virus. If the result is positive then the type of Hepatitis is determined and the patient is treated further accordingly.



Fibro Scanning

Fibro scanning of a liver is advanced test of imaging. It is done to check the level of softness of liver tissues. The stiff will be the liver, the more will be the extent of liver disease. The liver Foundation provides facility of fibro scanning free of cost. It is done using a device called the FibroScan, our doctor places a handheld probe against patient’s abdomen, and the probe sends a painless vibration through the body and into the liver. A transducer on the end of the probe measures how long it takes for the vibration to travel through the liver. The faster the vibration passes through, the stiffer the liver is.



Ultrasound

The liver Foundation provides the facility of ultrasound of the patients with hepatitis B and C to check whether the liver is inflamed or not. Ultrasound is a painless test in which high frequency sound waves are used to produce inner structural images of patient’s body. Our doctors places a handheld probe called a transducer against patient’s abdomen, and the transducer sends an image of the liver to a computer monitor, where it is analyzed for further treatment.



Medication

The Liver Foundation provides appropriate medicine of all kinds of chronic hepatitis. Patients are followed up after every two weeks which is continued for 3 months and in some cases for 6 months. After completion of medication , the patients are again called for the blood tests to ensure that they are free from hepatitis and are further advised by doctors about prevention and care.



Vaccination

The Liver Foundation provides appropriate vaccination to the patients with negative Hepatitis B screening test result. The vaccination helps a person in prevention of viral Hepatitis. The Vaccination in the Liver foundation is done free of cost.
